The Informational Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistic data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
The number of visitors in December, 2014 amounted to 433 660- more by -10,5 % than the index of the same period in 2013.
As for January-December period, the number of visits to the country amounted to 5 493492 - more by 1,9 % than the index of the same period in 2013.
According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific number is the following:
a) Tourist -2 218 050 visits (40,4, %, of general number; increase by 7,4 % in comparison with the same index of the last year);
b) Transit –1 110 015 visits (20,2 % of general number, decrease by -6,6% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
c) Other -2 165 427 visits (39,4 % of general number increase by -1,3% in comparison with the same index of the last year).
The most of the visits in December, 2014 was paid again from Turkey (+2,1%), Azerbaijan (+17,2%), Armenia (+18,6%), Russia (+8%) and Ukraine (-9%). Positive tendency is also preserved in connection with EU countries: in terms of the increasing number of arrivals to Georgia in January-December period the following countries traditionally took the leading positiosn: Lithuania, Poland, Latvia, United Kingdom (relevantly 93%, 25%, 25%, და 11%). Central Asian countries – Kazakhstan (34%), among the countries of Eastern Europe: citizens of Belarus with 48%.
