Firefighters and rescuers of the Emergency Situations Management Service of the Ministry of Eta, due to the heavy rainfall in Georgia, are mobilized in different regions of the country with appropriate equipment and floating means of transport and are continuously carrying out relevant rescue measures.
The border police helicopter is also involved in rescue operations.
Due to heavy rainfall, residential houses and various facilities were flooded in Marneuli municipality. Among them, as a result of the overflowing of the river, one of the catering facilities located near the Red Bridge, in which citizens were present, was flooded. As a result of immediate rescue measures carried out by the firefighters, all of them were transported to a safe area. A Border Police helicopter was involved in the rescue operation.
The special situations response rescue group, with the involvement of the border police helicopter, transported a citizen to a safe place, who was on an island in the Ktsia river located near the village of Nakhiduri, Bolnisi municipality, and was unable to reach the shore safely.
