On 30 May of this year in Batumi within the frames of the visit for Georgian Police Day celebration of the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Latvia agreement between the Government of Georgia and the Government of the Republic of Latvia on Collaboration within the Field of Civil Emergency Prevention, Preparedness and Response was signed. The Agreement was signed by Mr. Aleksandre Tchikaidze, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, and by Mr. Rihards Kozlovskis, the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Latvia.
The Agreement is important for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Latvia for strengthening bilateral partner cooperation in the field of prevention and elimination of natural and man-made emergencies.
From Georgian side the competent agency responsible for the implementation of this Agreement is Emergency Situations Management Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
