Officers of Tbilisi Division of Patrol Police Department have undergone special training on two-day extreme driving for operating new patrol police vehicle “Ford Interceptor”. Treining was held on Rustavi race track.
Theory course was held by the highly qualified trainer from the United States William Mc Sland while practical training was led by also highly qualified trainer from the US Gregg Parquet.
The training course for operating “Ford Interceptor” included: vehicle capacities, extreme driving and maneuvering and necessary basic driving skills. First day of the training was dedicated to the theory course and extreme driving and second day was completely dedicated to extreme driving and maneuvering.
Trainings will continue in the future and all inspectors of Patrol Police will undergo relevant studies on how to operate new patrol vehicle „Ford Interceptor“. Patrol Police crews will starts patrolling streets of the Georgian capital with new vehicles by the end of November.
„Ford Interceptor“is distinguished for providing inspector’s safety and high speed operations. The vehicle was purpose-built for the US Patrol Police. It is additionally equipped with systems and equipment that enhances the safety of the officer, which is not present in any vehicle in Georgia assigned for law enforcers. It is also notable that Ford Interceptor“ has a three year warranty, which will reduce expenses for keeping the vehicle in good shape.
The vehicle will ensure safety of the driver and passengers as well as will ensure isolation of the back seat passengers. Vehicle partition is made of durable steel and other high quality materials. Doors are equipped with two additional lights enabling officers to work in dark places for examining the area. The vehicle can operate in severe weather conditions and ensures safe movement. Tires are made of special material and provided with steel discs. Similar types of tires are not manufactured for the civil sector and are designed for vehicles produced for law enforcers.
