Employees of Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Customs Department of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, as a result of joint operative and investigative measures, arrested O.G (date of birth: 1979) in the territory of Sarpi customs checkpoint on the fact of illegal purchase and storage of a large amount of drugs and its illegal import into Georgia.
The sentence for the offense is the term of imprisonment from 8 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
As a result of the inspection of the minibus driven by O.G, the law enforcers seized the heroin packed in two bundles as evidence; the drug was concealed in the cabin of the mentioned vehicle.
Investigation is underway on the fact of illegal purchase and storage of particularly large quantities of drugs and illegal import into Georgia, under the 6th part of the article 260 and the 4th part of the article 262, the Criminal Code of Georgia.
