In order to improve the efficiency of rescue operations, the Emergency Situations Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs purchased four high-speed rescue boats, which will be delivered gradually.
The ceremony of handover of the first boat was held in Batumi, on the territory of the rescue unit.
The event was attended by the head of Emergency Situations Management Service- Teimuraz Mghebrishvili, the chairman of the government of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara - Tornike Rizhvadze, the Mayor of Batumi- Archil Chikovani, the director of the Maritime Transport Agency- Aleksi Akhvlediani, and the director of Ajara Police Department- Grigol Beselia.
The guests viewed the updated infrastructure of the rescue unit and tested the capabilities of the boat in the water.
The boat is equipped with modern technologies as well as with water bottom scanning and fire extinguishing facilities, which will make more efficient and significantly improve fire-extinguishing, search and rescue operations.
