The Head of the Forensic Services at the Escondido Police Department in the State of California, USA, expert Bryanna Toussaint visited the Forensic-Criminalistics Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The meeting was also attended by Sarah Rupert, the Director of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) Office in Georgia.
The Director of the Forensic-Criminalistics Department, Giorgi Tvauri, hosted the delegation.
During the meeting organized by the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), the parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, including details related to the procedures for obtaining international ISO17020 accreditation for the Tbilisi Forensic Division.
Bryanna Toussaint got acquainted with the specifics of the work of experts at the crime scene, as well as the guidelines and standard operating procedures developed by the Forensic-Criminalistics Department within the framework of the American accreditation.
In the process of obtaining ISO17020 accreditation for crime scene investigation, the Forensic-Criminalistics Department has actively collaborated with the US State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), and continues intensive efforts toward accrediting other areas of expertise.
