Central Bureau of Interpol granted MIND equipment to the patrol police officers serving at the Sadakhlo railway unit, which includes Stolen and Lost Travel Documents database (SLTD). Until recently officers of Patrol Police Department who conducted inspection in trains were not able to connect directly to the Stolen and Lost Travel Documents database (SLTD).
Herewith, National Central Bureau of Interpol of Georgia addressed General Secretariat of Interpol with a petition and as a result Georgia was granted MIND equipment.
MIND device allows data to be checked without accessing the Internet. The mentioned database contains more than 45 million notes, which is updated by Interpol member states on the regular basis and serves as effective mechanism against the fight with crime, especially taking into consideration the fact that lost travel documents are often misused by crime syndicates and terrorist groups.
