The employees of Old Tbilisi Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of immediate operative and investigative activities, detained previously convicted L.M. (DoB 1987) for the attempted murder under aggravating circumstances and illegal purchase, possession, and carrying of an explosive device.
The committed crime envisions from 16 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
The investigation established that on October 22 of the current year, the accused person had an argument with four individuals on Lagidze Street in Tbilisi, during which he threw a hand grenade in their direction and hid from the scene. As a result of the hand grenade explosion, 3 people were injured: L.B. (DoB 1994), G.A. (DoB1991) and G.Z. (DoB 1983).
All three of them are receiving appropriate medical care at the hospital.
The police arrested the accused person as a result of immediate activates few hours after the incident.
The investigation into the fact of the attempted murder committed against three persons under aggravating circumstances, as well as the illegal purchase, storage and carrying of an explosive device is being conducted under Articles 19-109 and 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
