The officers of Old Tbilisi Police Main Division under Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained N.K. (DoB 2000), as a result of operative-investigative activities in Tbilisi for inflicting minor damage to health on purpose on the grounds of gender identity intolerance and illegal purchase-keeping-carrying of firearms.
The committed crime envisages from 3 to 7 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that on August 27 of the current year, the accused person inflicted minor health damage to a transgender woman - J.C. (DoB 1993), with a shot from a pneumatic weapon on the grounds of gender identity intolerance, while driving in a car near the circus building in Tbilisi.
As a result of operative and investigative activities, N.K was arrested by the law enforcers as an accused within hours after the incident. The weapon of crime - a pneumatic pistol - was seized by police as evidence.
The investigation is in progress on the fact of inflicting minor damage to health on purpose on the grounds of gender identity intolerance and illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms- crimes envisaged under article 120, I part and article 236, III and IV parts of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
