As a result of complex operational measures and investigative actions, officers of Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested 3 persons - a Chinese citizen I.F. born in 1987 and Thai citizens P.P. born in 1972 and A.D. born in 1983 - for promoting prostitution and providing a place for prostitution, based on a judge's ruling.
The committed crime envisions up to 7 years in prison.
As a result of undercover operational-investigative measures carried out within the framework of the investigation, based on a judge's ruling, it was established that the defendants systematically supported women involved in prostitution. In particular, they were given premises in massage parlors in Batumi in exchange for a certain amount of money.
The investigation also revealed that the detainees helped females involved in prostitution find clients, and in return, were paid a certain amount of money from the payments received for providing sex services.
As a result of complex operational measures and investigative actions, the police arrested three individuals in Batumi.
The investigation is underway under Article 254 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
