The employees of Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of immediate operative-search measures and investigative activities, detained previously convicted Z.B. (DoB 1979) for premeditated murder committed against a family member.
The committed crime envisions from 16 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
The investigation established that the accused stabbed his spouse – I.B. (DoB 1987) with a cold steel in their apartment located in Batuami and fled from the crime scene. The wounded woman died shortly after being admitted to the medical facility.
Police detained Z.B. as a result of immediate police activities.
Law enforcement officers seized the weapon of crime - a knife as evidence.
The investigation is being conducted under Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, sub-paragraph "k", which refers to premeditated murder of a family member committed under aggravating circumstances.
