As a result of a joint operation, the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Border Police detained 5 citizens of Bangladesh, Nigeria and Iran.
It was established that the detained persons resided in the country without a legal basis, according to the law "On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons". They abused the deadlines set by the asylum procedure and stayed in the country for years without legal grounds.
Detainees failed to meet deadlines set by the deportation decision, which implies leaving the country voluntarily, as a result of which the decision was made by the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to detain the mentioned persons.
In order to enforce the decision, the detainees are currently placed in temporary accommodation center of the Migration Department with the purpose of returning them to their country of origin.
