Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili, the Minister of Internal Affairs opened in Chiatura a renovated building of fire-rescue Unit of Imereti Emergency Situations Management Division of the Emergency Situations Management Agency of MIA.
The event was attended by Mr. Merab Malania, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Zviad Katsashvili, the Director of the Emergency Management Agency, the State Governor of Imereti and the representatives of Chiatura Municipality.
In compliance with the modern standards, the two-story building is furnished with the latest hardware and equipment.
Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili along with the guests had a tour around the rehabilitated building, viewed fire- rescue technique, the firefighting and rescue equipment and upgraded garage.
57 firefighters and rescuers are employed in Chiatura firefighting and rescue renovated unit.
Mr. Giorgi Mgebrishvili met firefighters and rescuers and wished them success in their professional activities.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs, in order to create better working conditions for the employees ensures rehabilitation and construction of firefighters and rescuers buildings throughout the country. By the end of the current year some new buildings will be built and old buildings are planned to be renovated. These infrastructure projects will significantly improve the daily working conditions of firefighter-rescuers and raise the quality of response to emergency situations.
