Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili held meeting with sportsmen of the MIA sport club "Mebrdzoli". Minister once again congratulated sportsmen with the achieved success at “Rio-2016” Olympic Games. He also reviewed future plans expressed his support to the sportsmen and handed out memorable gifts.
Members of the MIA sport club: Amiran Papinashvili (60 kg) Vazha margvelashvili (66kg) Avtandil Chrikishvili (81kg) Varlam Liparteliani (90kg) and Adam Oqruashvili (+100kg) have successfully participated at the Olympic Games.
MIA sport club is the active champion of the Europe. In December of 2015 the club won the European Club Championship and earned “Golden League”. In the history of the Georgian Judo, the MIA sport club managed to win the high-ranking tournament for the first time.
Sport club of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “Mebrdzoli” was founded in May of 2014 with the support of the Security Police. Majority of the club members are enlisted in the national judo team. They are winners of multiple international tournaments and world championships.
