On the basis of the report received at Gldani-Nadzaladevi Police Main Division under Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, according to which, one of the deputies of Tbilisi City Council and accompanying persons have been inflicted health damage - the investigation was launched under Article 126(1) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to violence committed in group.
The law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene on the basis of a report, were met by several people with various types of injuries, including bloodstains. The mentioned persons were transferred to a medical facility.
Shortly after the incident, friends and party members of injured persons assembled in Gldani, they prevented the law enforcement officers from performing their official duties, verbally and physically insulted them and offered resistance, as a result, police arrested 3 persons under the Code of Administrative Offenses.
As a result of the confrontation, the police officers were inflicted various body injuries. The fact is being investigated under Article 353 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to assaulting police officer during the performance of official duties.
It is notable that persons admitted in the hospital refused to be interviewed by the law enforcement officers within the frames of the ongoing investigation and stated that they will testify in court.
The investigation regarding the incidents are in progress incidents, appropriate measures are being implemented.
