Senior class pupils of public school N130 visited 112 Department within the frames of “Maintenance of law and crime prevention program for public schools" project. The project is being implemented under the initiative and organization of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science.
Within the frames of the visit pupils were showed around 112 center and got familiarized with work specifics. Pupils received information on the unique emergency number- 112 which is aimed at assisting citizens during emergency situations all across the country in round-the-clock regime.
Within the frames of the visit pupils were informed on when and how to call 112. They also were informed which services are available to the citizens at 112 Department. The children received detailed information about the rules of cooperation with the 112 operator, what information should be provided in case of an emergency operator, and what questions need to be answered.
During the visit, the students were told that they should call 112 only in emergency cases. In addition, the pupils found out about the harm on notifying 112 with false information from department representatives and what are the penalties envisaged in case of misuse of 112 emergency number.
Pupils got interested with SMS and video call services of the department. They learned how deaf and hearing impaired people can use the services.
The meeting was aimed at crime prevention among teenagers through promoting development of the public awareness in the field of law and security. The project is aimed at boosting legal awareness and civic responsibility and to learn rules of behavior in emergency situations.
From May1 Ministry of Internal Affairs launched informative-educational campaign, aimed at informing public on forms of relations with law enforcement agencies and on citizens’ rights provided by the law, crime prevention among youth by promoting development of the public awareness in the field of law and security. Within the frames of the project -“Maintenance of law and crime prevention program for public schools" meetings with pupils will be held at schools of the capital and regions, including ethnic minority schools.
