The Secretary of the National Security Council of Georgia, Vakhtang Gomelauri held a meeting with the Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan.
Vakhtang Gomelauri introduced the Armenian counterpart with the structure and the mandate of the National Security of Georgia.
The parties discussed the issues of regional security environment and focused on the ongoing events taking place in Ukraine.
The necessity for peace and cooperation for the sustainable development of the South Caucasus region was emphasized at the meeting, as well as the importance of regional dialogue development in the fields of economy, trade, culture and other directions.
Vakhtang Gomelauri and Armen Grigoryan also discussed the importance of enhancing the existing cooperation between the agencies of the two countries in the field of security.
The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Office of the National Security Council of Georgia, Givi Tumanishvili, the Deputy Head of the Office of the National Security Council, Giorgi Ghibradze, the Advisor to the Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia, Arshak Musakhanyan and the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia, Ruben Sadoyan.
