The Strategic Facilities Protection Department of the MIA Special and Emergency Measures Center held the official ceremony of taking the military oath by 217 recruits. After taking the oath the recruits sang the national anthem, marched and demonstrated their combating skills. The ceremony was attended by Director of the Strategic Facilities Protection Department Police Colonel Bondo Ochigava, as well as other representatives of the Department and high officials of the Special and Emergency Measures Center. The event was also attended by the families of the recruits. After the ceremony was over the recruits were blessed by father Davit.
Recruits will undergo their one-year compulsory military service at Strategic Facilities Protection Department of MIA Special and Emergency Measures Center. They will study military subjects and acquire essential practical skills of professional soldiers. They will also participate in local sport contests and will be provided with free medical service and free nourishment. During compulsory military service recruits will work in shifts that will last for 24 hours and have a rest for two days afterwards. Servicemen will also have short-term vacation. After the completion of obligatory military service they will have an opportunity to be employed at various MIA units in case of passing the relevant contest successfully.
Special guests for the event were pupils and teachers from Tbilisi public school N202 for blind and impaired sight children. The various kind of weapons and equipment located at the territory of the Department were especially exhibited for them. As long as tactile perception of the universe is vital for blind and impaired sight pupils they had an opportunity to touch the armament and equipment. The representatives of the Special and Emergency Measures Center provided comprehensive answers to the questions of the pupils.
