Third meeting of Interagency Coordinating Council for Combating Organized Crime was held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. During the meeting report on activities held for the last six months within the frames of The National Strategy for Combating Organized Crime was presented.
Interagency Coordinating Council was created for preserving and improving results of the fight against organized crime and polishing the existing mechanisms. Functions of the council include: renewal of National Strategy for Combating Organized Crime and action plan for accomplishing strategy, monitoring, coordination of interagency activities and drafting of initiatives and reports.
At the meeting report of expert on combat and foiling of organized crime prepared within the frames of evaluation mission on implementation of visa liberation action plan was discussed.
Third meeting of Interagency Coordinating Council for Combating Organized Crime was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Penitentiary Department, Ministry of Science and Education, Main Prosecutor’s Office, of the US Embassy Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) and United States Department of Justice (DoJ) and other foreign partners.
