At the Ministry of Internal Affairs first meeting of the commission formed on the basis of “Freedom Charter” was held. Commission is comprised of employees of the Ministry and representatives of all fractions of the Georgian Parliament.
Aim of the commission is to impose certain restrictions to those persons, who had been covertly working with Soviet security services, rejected co-operation with security forces of independent Georgia and who continued working for foreign intelligence after Georgia gained independence as it is provided by the 8th article of the “Freedom Charter”, which also envisages to impose restrictions for those citizens who occupied high-rank positions in the Soviet era. Charter also envisages banning of fascist and communist totalitarian symbols and its propaganda.
During the first meeting of the commission action plan and priorities were defined. Members of commission also discussed other issues determined by the “Freedom Charter”.
