First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Besik Amiranashvili and Head of Lithuanian National police –Linas Parnavas have signed memorandum of understanding Between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and Police Department of the Ministry of Interior of Lithuania.
The mentioned document will enhance the existing cooperation between the countries in the police sphere. Memorandum of understanding implies sharing of the experience in crime prevention, fight against crime and education in policing. With this aim joint seminars will be held as well as educational visits.
Within the frames of the visit of the Lithuanian national Police delegation, Lithuanian law enforcers visited Gori regional police division. At the meeting sides discussed issues related to the fight against crime, crime prevention capacities and shared experience in this direction.
Members of the delegation expressed their interest in the pilot project of analyses-based police activities and got acquainted with technological novelties, including Incident accounting system and new projects elaborated by Gori regional police department employees.
Visit of the Lithuanian delegation was implemented within the frames of “Cooperation in Police Sphere between East Partnership States”. The project is aimed at enhancing cooperation between the EU and East partner States and sharing experience.
