The representatives of the Emergency Management Department and the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs successfully finished regional table top exercise which was organized within the frames of Eastern European Partnership programme “PPRD”.
The representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia as well as the representatives of the emergency management departments and other relevant agencies of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova participated in the mentioned exercise.
During the practical exercises the parties discussed the principles of cooperation and coordination with the EU and the Emergency Management Coordination Center. The participants worked on the issues of international humanitarian assistance, mechanisms of rescue and medical services and shared experience in this respect. Also, the issue of mutual cooperation of international media and public relations services of different countries was emphasized.
The representatives of EC Commission, the group of experts of “PPRD EAST” programme and its leader Mr. Sergej Anagnosti as well as the experts invited from Greece, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany and Romania conducted monitoring of the working process. The experts positively assessed the achievements of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and congratulated the participants with the successful completion of the programme. Mr. Zviad Katsashvili, the Director of the Emergency Management Department of the MIA and Mr. Sergey Anagnosti delivered relevant certificates to the programme participants.
