Head of MIA Administration Ekaterie Kereselidze, Head of International Relations Department Shalva kvinikhidze, Deputy Head of Patrol Police Department Levan Matchavariani and Head of Emergency Response center “112” Giorgi Bitchashvili met with Representatives of NGOs working on Women Rights.
Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia presented research about the crimes committed against women, statistics and analysis about domestic violence and conflicts; information about the implemented and planned projects for the raising of public awareness, news about ongoing/ implemented projects and trainings for law enforcements within the framework of cooperation with International and Non-governmental Organizations. MIA representatives also provided NGOs with information on trainings on the mentioned topic and implemented changes in legislation.
At the end of the meeting, the Head of Administration of MoIA, confirmed once again that the fight against domestic violence is one of the top priorities of MoIA and its effective implementation requires active and adequate involvement of Civil Sector.
