Director of Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Ivane Papiashvili and head of International Relations Department Shalva Kvinikhidze paid an official visit to Vienna. The delegation was also comprised of the representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Justice of Georgia, involved in the implementation process of the EU-Georgia Visa Liberalisation Action Plan (VLAP).
Meetings were held at the Federal Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Austria and the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, where guests were hosted by Secretary General of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs Michael Linhart.
MIA representatives familiarized Austrian colleagues with reforms implemented in the law enforcing sphere as well as achievements and future plans on the issues of the fight against trans-border and organized crime within the country, international police cooperation, human rights protection, migration and other directions.
