The Reforms and Development Agency of MIA along with the "Women Information Center" (WIC) organized three day training in Gudauri on the issues of “integration of women, gender equality, peace and security principles in security sector” for officials of the structural units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The training was aimed at facilitation of gender principles integration and awareness raising in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs actively cooperates with international as well as local non-governmental organizations on gender issues.
It should be noted that on September 29, 2014 the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Woman) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. According to the Memorandum the participatory gender audit was conducted at the Ministry. The experts conducting the audit developed the report reflecting the achievements of the Ministry.
