Deputy Directors of the MIA Strategic Pipelines Protection Department – Konstantine Makharashvili and Vasil Revishvili held a meeting with BP Georgia Security Manager Sandro Chitadze and pipelines' security consultant of BP contractor company Bowman Risk Management Peter Bing.
During the meeting sides discussed security issues related to the strategic pipelines traversing Georgia and South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion Project (SCPX) and made plans for the future. The representatives of BP got introduced to the pipelines’ monitoring process at the Duty Service of the MIA Strategic Pipelines Protection Department.
Peter Bing -Consultant of BP - within the frames of the visit in Georgia conducted scheduled monitoring at the regional facilities of the Strategic Pipelines Protection Department in compliance with the agreement between Government of Georgia and BP on the provision of security equipment, facilities and operations funding for the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline Project. He also visited construction sites of the ongoing South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion Project (SCPX).
