The employees of the Special Tasks Department of the MIA Special and Emergency Measures Center Lieutenant-Colonel Paata Chopikashvili, Lieutenant–Colonel Zuriko Urumashvili and Major Shota Mardaleishvili visited Riga in order to share experience of the Latvian counterparts in Maintenance of Law and Public Order.
During the visit, the representatives of the Special Tasks Department held the meetings with the representatives of the State Police of the Republic of Latvia and Riga Regional Police Department; they got familiarized with their operations and experience in the field of fight against crime and public order. They observed modern equipment of Latvian colleagues. The representatives of the Ministry had the opportunity to visit the temporary detention center of the Latvian State Police and to get familiar with their activities.
Latvian police units has gained great experience in the field of fight against crime, public order and security. The representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs acquired significant practical experience being introduced to the advanced operations of Latvian Police. The cooperation with the Latvian colleagues will continue in the future as well.
