New building of N2 Border Sector “Iori” of N4 Office (Dedophlistskaro) of the MIA Border Police has been inaugurated. The ribbon cutting ceremony was in attendance of the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Head of the Border Police Major-General Zurab Gamezardashvili, the Deputy Minister of Interior Merab Malania, US Ambassador Ian Kelly, the representative of the US Embassy and the Export Control and Border Security Program and other distinguished guests. This new facility is fully in line with the modern standards. The sector covers the 40 km segment of the Georgian-Azerbaijani State Border and will improve the Georgia’s security and Border Capabilities. The MIA border Police of Georgia with the strong partnership with its American and European partners as well as donor organization will continue the construction of several Border Sectors, thus enhancing the country’s state border security.
