The officers of Ajara division of the Patrol Police Department along with Customs Department of Revenue Service as a result of jointly held operative-investigative activities detained Armenian citizen Vaghinak G. (DoB 1967) for illegal purchase and keeping of drugs and smuggling on the territory of Georgia. The mentioned person was detained at Sarpi border checkpoint. Law enforcers seized 80 pills of “kodolipran” which according to expertise contains 1,76 gr of codeine from the detainee’s vehicle. The accused has already pleaded guilty. Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of drugs and smuggling on the territory of Georgia, article 260, I part and article 262, I part envisaged by the Criminal Code of Georgia.
