The group of response on chemical, radiological and biological incidents of MIA Emergency Situations Management Department has foiled chemical incident that took place in one of the orchard of the house located on Aghmashenebeli Street, Chokhatauri.
MIA Emergency Situations Management Department received report that radiation has leaked in one of the orchards located in Chokhatauri. The group of response on chemical, radiological and biological incidents has immediately departed to the place of incident. As soon as the group arrived at the site the place of incident was secured with caution tape by the Patrol Police inspectors. Officers of Guria Regional Main Division evacuated people residing neat to the incident area.
The group of response on chemical, radiological and biological incidents took necessary measures at the site, inspected dangerous zones and assessed the situation. MIA rescuers found three metal containers. By means of special equipment enabling to conduct chemical and radiological analysis and as a result of special activities MIA rescuers established that leakage of radiological did not took place. According to preliminary analysis metal containers were filled with chlorine or substance containing chlorine, which leaked and caused intoxication of several people. Their lives are not in danger at the moment.
The group of response on chemical, radiological and biological incidents has completely liquidated the results of incident. Metal containers were carried to secure place where they will be destructed by MIA Emergency Situations Management Department rescuers.
