Within the frames of “Maintenance of law and crime prevention program for public schools” project pupils from 12 public schools of Shida Kartli region along with teachers visited Expert-forensic Main Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science. Pupils expressed their eagerness to visit MIA unit at the meeting with the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Archil Talakvadze which was held in Gori. Under the initiative of the Deputy Minister and with the support of civil education program “Future Generation” pupils from 12 public schools of Shida Kartli region visited Expert-forensic Main Division. Guests were hosted by the head of K-9 service of the Expert-forensic Main Division Zviad Nizharadze.
Representatives of Expert-forensic Main Division acquainted pupils with work specifics and provided comprehensive answers to all questions. Pupils visited K-9 unit and got introduced to means of odor and trace detection, fingerprinting procedures, participated in simulation game on crime and investigation. The visit was aimed at promoting public awareness in the field of law and security.
From May 1 Ministry of Internal Affairs launched informative-educational campaign, aimed at informing public on forms of relations with law enforcement agencies and on citizens’ rights provided by the law, crime prevention among youth by promoting development of the public awareness in the field of law and security. Within the frames of the project -“Maintenance of law and crime prevention program for public schools" meetings with pupils will be held at schools of the capital and regions, including ethnic minority schools.
