The officers of General Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on the basis of operative-searching and investigative activities detained a boarder guard officer of №3 division under Land Border Defense Department of the Border Police Mamuka Kituashvili and his accomplice Bichiko G. in Bogdan Khmelnitski Street, Tbilisi for bribery and assistance in bribery. The detained persons demanded and received 4000 USD as a bribe for transporting precious metals on Georgia-Armenia Border with the violation of customs procedures.
The officers of General Inspection detained a boarder-guard officer of Land Border Defense Department Zurab Revazishvili for non-reporting the crime.
Investigation against Mamuka Kituashvili is in progress on the fact of bribery (Article 338 part I of the Criminal Code of Georgia), assistance in bribery against Bichiko B. (Article 25-338 Part I of Criminal Code of Georgia) and against Zurab Revazishvili on the fact of non-reporting the crime (Article 376 of Criminal Code of Georgia). Investigation is conducted by General Inspection of MIA.
