The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia responds to the statement made by the National Movement concerning the amount transferred to Mr. Giorgi Zedelashvili, the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs. The money in the amount of 20 000 GEL transferred to Mr. Giorgi Zedelashvili was not a bonus; the mentioned sum was transferred on May 7 singly for medical treatment purposes.
Due to the health condition and the necessity to define the Deputy Minister`s diagnosis (spondylarthrosis, hernia of intervertebral disks, spinal channel narrowing) more accurately, he has had to undergo extra urgent medical examination abroad.
Also, it should be mentioned that every day the LEPL- Healthcare Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia covers the expenses for medical treatment of the employees and their family members in Georgia and in case of necessity abroad.
For the period of 5 months of 2014 the Ministry has spent one million seventy five thousand GEL on the medical treatment of the employees.
We would like to remind you that on March 1, 2013 the decree of the Minister of Internal Affairs on monthly bonuses for the employees of the Ministry came into force. The employees of the Ministry, having large families receive monthly bonuses, namely, parents of four children - 200 GEL, of five children-300 GEL, of six children - 400 GEL and parents of seven or more children - 500 GEL.
Also, another decree of the Minister of Internal Affairs on single material aid to the employees of the Ministry is in force. According to the mentioned decree every employee receives one-time allowances in the amount of 1000 GEL for marriage, child birth as well as in case of death of the family member.
Monthly bonuses and one-time allowances are available for all employees of the Ministry.
