Within the frames of the activities dedicated to the Policeman’s Day, awards ceremony was held at MIA Academy for the winners in essay, drawing contest and football tournament. Within the frames of the contest in essay writing and drawing (“Policeman- outstanding citizen”) 20 best essay authors and 20 best drawings have been named. Winners were awarded with certificates by the director of Public Relations Department Nino Giorgobiani, Rector of MIA Academy Nukri Gelashvili, and President of National Federation of the School Sports Gia Begiashvili. The mentioned contest was held under the initiative and organization of School Sports Federation in collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs. MIA Academy also hosted exhibition of the best works.
Within the frames of the event open tournament in mini football “Police Cup” was also held, dedicated to the Policeman’s Day involving more than 50 teams from Tbilisi public schools. First, second and third places were respectively earned by N208, N60, and N99 public school teams. Football team of N208 public school was awarded with “Police Cup” by the Rector of MIA Academy Nukri Gelashvili, team earning the second place was awarded with special cup by the National Federation of School Sports President Gia Begiashvili. Owners of the third place (public school N 22) were alsos awarded with special cup by “MIA Academy” basketball team members- Revaz Rogava and Akaki Lomouri. The event was also attended by Gldani-Nadzaladevi administrative unit of Tbilisi municipality and representatives of Paralympic Committee of Georgia. MIA Academy representatives made a presentation for the school pupils involved in the tournament, familiarized with study program content of the academy and took them on a tour around the academy infrastructure.
Contest in essay writing and drawing lasted for a month which actively involved beginner class and secondary school pupils all across the country. Essays and drawings were assessed by MIA Public Relations Department, National Curriculum Department of the Ministry of Education and Science, National Center for Teachers' Professional Development and National School Sports Federation representatives. The contest was aimed at boosting civil awareness among pupils and enhancing trust between policemen and youth as well as popularization of the health lifestyle.
