The officers of Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Regional Main Division detained Grigol A. (DoB 1982) and Rati M. (DoB 1989) for armed assault and illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms.
Investigation established that detainees, armed with weapon, assaulted currency exchange booth located in Zestaponi, Aghmashenebeli Street, appropriated 660 EU 4295 GEL and 1961 US dollars and fled from the place of crime.
As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities both of the offenders were taken under arrest by the law enforcers. During the searching activities held in detainees’ houses policemen seized “Makarov” and “Bereta” pistols, bullets and illegally appropriated sum.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of armed assault committed in group and illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms, article 179, II and III parts and article 236, I and II parts of the Criminal Code.
