The officers of Zestaponi police division of Imereti, Rcha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Regional Main Division along with Central Criminal Police Department as a result of jointly held operative and investigative activities detained previously convicted persons: levan Ts. (DoB 1979) Levan P. (DoB 1986) Giorgi P. (DoB 1986) and Giorgi Ch. (DoB 1990) for armed robbery committed in group.
Investigation established that on 4 and 6 April detainees assaulted two petrol stations in Zestaponi as a result of which offenders appropriated cash and fled from the place of crime.
As a result of operative-investigative and searching activities the organized group members were detained in several days after the crime took place. During the searching activities held in detainees’ houses police seized various types of firearms, bullets, cold steel and illegally appropriated technic.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of armed robbery committed in group and illegal purchase and keeping of firearms, article 179 II part, sub-paragraps A and B and article 236, I part of the Criminal Code.
