The officers of the Main Division Combating Organized Crime of the Central Criminal Police Department of the MIA along with the officers of the State Security Service as a result of joint investigative activities carried out on the basis of operative information detained Nugzar M. (D.o.B.: 1940) in Tbilisi, Didube district, for illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearm and ammunition.
During the personal search of Nugzar A. the law enforcers seized “Makarov” system unregistered pistol with 8 bullets, while as a result of the detainee`s vehicle search the law enforcers seized “Kalashnikov” system unregistered automatic rifle with 2 cartridges and 60 bullets, while during the search of the detainee`s house 740 bullets were seized.
The investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping, carrying and sale of firearms and ammunition (parts II, III and IV of the Article 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia).
