The officers of Gori Regional Police unit of Shida Kartli Regional Main Division under MIA, as a result of investigative activities, based on the operative information detained three persons: Valerian N (DoB 1982), Giorgi N. (DoB 1950) and Besik M (DoB 1974) for illegal fishing in village Kvakhvreli, Gori region.
Officers seized 15 kg. fish, electrofishing unit fixed on the net and accumulator as a result of searching conducted in the car owned by one of the detainees.
Investigation established, that, detainees illegally caught seized fish in Kaspi region, in vicinity of Gomi village, in the Mtkvari river. The detainees have already pleaded guilty.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of mass destruction of fish by electrofishing unit in the forbidden area (article 300, III part of the Criminal Code of Georgia). The mentioned crime envisages up to 3 years of imprisonment.
