The officers of Kakheti regional Main Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a result of searching and investigative activities detained Kakha J. (DoB 1978) for illicit purchase and keeping of firearms and ammunition in village Arthana, Telavi region.
Investigation established, that Kakha J. made several shots at his garden from automatic weapon under the influence of alcohol. There were no casualties as a result of firing.
As a result of personal and house searching activities, law enforcers seized, “A-KA-74 model Kalashnikov automatic weapon and 12 cartridge-cases. The detainee has already pleaded guilty.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illicit purchase and keeping of firearms and ammunition. (Article 236, part I of the Criminal Code of Georgia.)
