The officers of Central Criminal Police Department as a result of investigative activities held on the basis of operative information detained Merab M. (DoB 1973) for illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms. Merab M. was detained on Ana Palitkovskaia Street, in his own vehicle.
During the searching activities held in the detainee’s car law enforcers seized unregistered “Arminius” type pistol with 8 bullets, while during searching activities held in the detainees apartment “Stechkin” pistol was detected with 78 bullets which was also unregistered.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms, article 236, I and II parts of the Criminal Code.
