The officers of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Regional Main Division along with State Security Agency and in collaboration with Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia as a result of operative-investigation activities detained previously convicted Ramaz A. (DoB 1966) in Zugdidi for the attempted swindling.
Investigation established that detainee promised to the internally displaced person- Lolita B. to assist in receiving an apartment from Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees. For the mentioned favor detainee demanded 2000 GEL and took 250 GEL in advance.
Law enforcers took Ramaz A. under arrest on the fact of receiving the sum. As a result of the personal search law enforcers seized 250 GEL from the detainee as evidence. Detainee has already pleaded guilty.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of the attempted swindling causing damage in large quantities, article 19-180, II part, sub-paragraph B of the Criminal Code. Investigation is conducted by Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Regional Main Division.
