The officers of Ajara division of Central Criminal Police Department and Kobuleti police unit, as a result of investigative activities held on the basis of operative information detained members of the criminal group, namely: many times convicted in past Giorgi G. many times convicted in past Giorgi A. many times convicted in past Giorgi T. many times convicted in past Joni Ts. and Giorgi T. for the membership of the so called “thieves’ world”, illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms and ammunition, and for offering resistance to the police.
During the personal search of Giorgi G. law enforcers seized Makarov pistol with one magazine and 5 bullets, officers also seized Makarov pistol with one magazine and 6 bullets from Giorgi A. and Geko weapon with 34 bullets from Giorgi T.
Detainees have already pleaded guilty.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of membership of the thieves’ world, illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms and for offering resistance to the police (articles 223, 236, I and II parts and articles 353 I part of the Criminal Code).
