Employees of Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Regional Main Division of the MIA, as a result of operative-searching and investigational measures detained previously convicted four individuals for robbery and illegal purchase and keeping of firearms, in particular: Ruben J. – D.o.b.: 1993; Aleksandre G. – D.o.b.: 1988; Didimi A.. – D.o.b.: 1993 and Lado A. – D.o.B.: 1993.
The investigation established that on September 2, this year in Matkhoji village, Khoni region the masked individuals with firearms attacked Robizon Khurtsilava’s family, physically insulted him and under violence endangering life misappropriated family-owned jewelry and “Volkswagen” vehicle.
Police found the vehicle on the same day in Maghlaki village, Tskaltubo region. The law enforcers detained all four accused in several days in Kutaisi and Zestaponi, while the jewelry misappropriated from the family of R.Khurtsilava was seized as evidences in Kutaisi from different pawn shops and the flats of the detainees. Also, a “Sig Sauer” pistol with 1 cartridge and 2 bullets, “Nagan” revolver with 3 bullets and heroin was seized as a result of personal search of the detainees.
Narcological examination established the fact of abuse of marijuana by Didimi A. and opium by Guram A.
The investigation is in progress over the fact of robbery by a group, illegal purchase-keeping-carrying of firearms and ammunition and illicit purchase-keeping of narcotics (sub clauses “b” and “c” of the 2nd part of the article 179; clause “b” of the 3rd part of the same article; 2nd and 3rd parts of the article 236 and the 1st part of the article 260, Criminal Code of Georgia).
