The officers of Emergency Situations Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Kakheti Regional Main Division rescue activities were held in several regions of Kakheti population affected as a result of the natural disaster.
Operative Response Center “112” received information on heavy rains in Kakheti region. As soon as the report was received all regional units of Emergency Situations Management Agency were mobilized and 10 additional firefighting brigades were sent from Tbilisi.
Heavy rain in Kvareli and hail damaged roofs and vehicles, in Lagodekhi region house basements were flooded as a result of the rain, while in Akhmeta region landslide blocked that highway.
Rescuers of Emergency Situations Management Agency along with officers of Kakheti Regional Main Division have been conducting road clean-up works and pumped water from the basements all night long.
