The officers of National Interpol Bureau of Georgia along with Central Criminal Police Department under MIA, as a result of jointly held activities, detained the citizen of Turkey Suleiman Ozturk (DoB 1985) in Tbilisi International Airport. The abovementioned person was wanted by Ankara Interpol under the red notice since 11.06.2015 on international level.
Suleiman Ozturk was convicted for committing crimes envisaged by N5237 81/1, 35/2 and 62/1 articles, that implies premeditated murder. On 24.06.2009, Suleiman Ozturk on the basis of conflict, caused injury to a person in head area by metal object during physical confrontation.
The officers of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia have placed the detainee in temporary detention isolator. At this stage Suleiman Ozturk is in pre-extradition detention upon the decision of Criminal Bench of Tbilisi City Court. Pre-extradition procedures are underway.
