At “Radisson Blu Iveria” hotel the Solidarity Fund of Georgia held a presentation of its 2014 summary performance report and a symbolic awards ceremony for its beneficiary organizations. The mentioned fund was founded under the initiative of the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili.
In terms of donation to the fund, Ministry of Internal Affairs in on the first place among ten state agencies. MIA employees donated 43 150 GEL on total. During summary performance report Ministry of Internal Affairs was handed special award. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Levan Izoria expressed gratitude on behalf of the Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandre Tchikaidze.
At the event “Solidarity Award” was handed to 24 state agencies- central ministries as well as separate services, local municipalities, National Commissions and Councils, whose full stuff members were involved in solidarity fund activities and made large donations each month.
From the starting point up to now, about 40,000 public servants from more than 240 state institutions were involved in solidarity fund activities. Fund has already concluded memorandums of cooperation with 14 private companies, within the frames of which small donations is being mobilized in the fund on the regular basis. Fund has accumulated 1,701,000 thousand GEL and 1,198,000 GEL allocated to finance diagnostics and treatment of 58 children and young persons. With the finances of the fund 18 children will be sent abroad for medical treatment including oncological patients.
