On February 4, 2015 Public Defender Ucha Nnuashvili, Minister of Education and Science Tamar Sanikidze, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Archil Talakvadze, EU Ambassador Ianush Herman and EU Delegation human rights coordinator Eva Pastrana awarded pupils who won the Contest “Me – Ombudsman.
In 2014 innovative, web technology-based Contest “Me - Ombudsman” was held for the fifth time involving more than 500 teams (1500 pupils). Final three written conclusions were evaluated by the jure consisting of three experts.
Archil Talakvadze was invited to attend the event as the former adviser of the Public Defender. Years ago, the idea of “Me-Ombudsman" contest and project was developed by Archil Talakvadze and founded with the support of the European Union.
Pupils who won the first place received HP laptops, second place winners-I Pad Air and those who earned the third place was awarded with iPad mini. All pupils who participated in the final were received certificates and Knapsacks full of stationery.
The competition was organized with support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and with financial support of the EU-funded project “Support to the Public Defender’s Office”.
