Within the frames of the three-day official visit delegation of the US military-naval forces has made a port call. Frigate “TAYLOR” of the US military-naval forces made a port call in Georgia territorial waters on May 8.
Guests were met by the Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandre Tchikaidze, Deputy Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri, Chief of Border Police Zurab Gamezardashvili and other representatives of MoIA as well as Ambassador of the United States to Georgia Richard Norland, representatives of the Adjara Autonomous Republic and other officials. Within the frames of the visit introductory meeting was held between the representatives of MIA Coast Guard and US military-naval forces delegation.
On 9-10 May combined trainings in diving will be held in Batumi. On the board of the US Frigate the representatives of the Coast Guard of both countries will participate in theoretical and practical exercises, including vessel control and management. Joint Sea maneuvers will also be held in the Batumi Port. Later the American delegation will host their Georgian colleagues on the USS Taylor board.
By the end of the visit, Georgian Coast Guard Department officials and the Military-Naval Attache of the USA to Georgia will sum up the visit at the final meeting.
The visit of the US Military-Naval forces will last till May 10.
