The standing Commission for Domestic Violence Prevention and Response held the next meeting in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The members of the Commission are the representatives of all relevant units of the MIA.
The Commission reviewed the results achieved in the field of violence against women and domestic violence as well as the challenges and med-term action plans and activities of the police units working in this direction.
The meeting agenda included a number of topical issues: monitoring the restraining order, police further training, continue of information campaign and meetings with the population, analysis of the incoming calls to the “112” on domestic violence and the next update of the guidelines.
Fight against domestic violence is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs; the Ministry will continue to cooperate closely with the civil sector for effective implementation of the relevant actions in this direction. The Commission members agreed to hold the meeting with non-governmental organizations in the near future in order to discuss the information and the recommendations available to them.
